Officers of the British Orchid Council

The Officers collectively make up the Executive Committee, responsible for the management and control of the British Orchid Council, and are answerable to Council.  All must be elected or re-elected annually, at the Annual General Meeting of Council, subject to a maximum of three consecutive years of service for Chairman and Vice Chairman, and five consecutive years for Hon. Secretary and Hon. Treasurer.  All Officers except the President must be delegates for member organisations.

Vice Presidents of the British Orchid Council

Appointment to the position of Vice President is the only honour in the gift of the British Orchid Council, reserved for individuals who have rendered exceptional service to Council, and is without time limit.  A Vice President has the right to attend Meetings of Council, but in a non-voting capacity unless also a delegate.

Members of the British Orchid Council

Membership is open to any organisation whose aims are consistent with those of Council and which has been in continuous existence for at least 3 years.  Amateur Societies must have at least 25 individual members, and Commercial Organisations at least 10 member firms with the majority established for at least 2 years.  Member organisations each pay an annual subscription of £20 and may appoint 2 representatives as delegates to Council.

Note.  The form currently available is an interim version only.  A more comprehensive and user-friendly version will be introduced as soon as possble.

The information submitted will be used in compiling BOGA's annual "Growers' and Buyers' Guide", and to manually update the details on this web site.

It is planned that, in due course, on-line submission of the form will automatically update the Member Society's details recorded on this web site, under strict password control.  This facility, which is currently under development, will enable a Member Society to control fully and securely its own on-line details.
